Here we suggest some important safety and service points for solid tyres
• Air volume inside the tire
• Inflation pressure
• The carcass is the structural body of the tire that retains compressed air.
• A stronger carcass can hold more air at higher pressures, resulting in a higher load-carrying capacity.
• At the same time, the carcass must be flexible enough to absorb shocks, which is especially important in Off-The-Road (OTR) applications.
• The carcass is made of rubber-coated fabric layers, called plies.
• The strength of a cross-ply tire carcass is rated using Ply Ratings (PR).
• Load capacity depends on: o Tire size o Ply rating o Application (e.g., for loaders)
• These factors determine the maximum inflation pressure of the tire.
• The carcass consists of a single steel layer running radially across the tire.
• The strength of the radial carcass, and thus the load capacity, is indicated by the star marking (★). More stars indicate a stronger carcass and higher load capacity.

Do’s
- Solid tyres rim fitment & demounting should be done only using Fitment Press.
- Always fit tyres on the proper rim size as suggested by the Original Equipment Manufacturer.
- Always use standard rims only for fitment.
- Regularly check tyres for wear.
- It is advisable to change solid tyres as a pair so that wear rate of left side tyre & right side tyre would be same.
- Use only application specific tyres for customer specific applications for better results.
Don’ts
- Solid tyres should not be used on roads for continuous service . Solid tyres are meant for intermittent service only.
- Never overload vehicle. Solid tyres also having a rated load carrying capacity*.
- Never over speed your vehicle beyond the maximum speed suggested by Original Equipment Manufacturer.
- Solid tyres should not be used beyond “SAFETY LINE”.
- Quick heel type tyres should not be fitted on regular rims.

Tips to Improve Solid Tyre Life
Like pneumatic tyres, solid tyres also designed for a particular load carrying capacity.
Solid tyre fitment must be done using “fitment Press”
Solid tyres should not be used beyond “Safety Line”
Always “Lift” forklifts fitted with solid tyres while shifting to distant location instead of driving through road.
For customer specific applications, use only custom made tyres which can effectively reduce cost/hour.
Standard Heel & LOC Solid Tyre

- LOC types are also known as Lip/Easy fit/Quick Heel etc depends on the manufacturer & territories in which these tyres are being used.
- Rims for standard heel tyre is multi piece & LOC rims are single piece.
- All dimensional parameters would be same for both Regular type & LOC type of a specific solid tyre size, except for change in fitment rim.
- LOC types are also known as Lip/Easy fit/Quick Heel etc depends on themanufacturer & territories in which these tyres are being used.
- Rims for standard heel tyre is multi piece & LOC rims are single piece.
Wear Limit /
60J Line
- Non Skid Depth
- “SAFETY LINE” engraving on tyre clearly showing usable tread.
- Wear limit up to which tyre can be used
- All solid tyres can be used up to 60J line/wear limit which is a universally accepted standard.
- Solid tyres can be used beyond Non Skid Depth limit and no need to change tyres once it reaches to Non Skid Depth limit (That is, when tyre tread pattern looks smooth).
- Only pneumatic tyres need to be changed once it reaches Non Skid Depth/ when tyre tread pattern becomes slick.
- Smooth tread pattern doesn’t affect Traction adversely at Forklift application conditions on hard floor.
- All Rubber King tyres are specially marked with “SAFETY LINE” engraving on 60J line to help our customers easily identify the limit up to which tyre can be used and to get maximum value for money.
Wheels/Rims for Solid Resilient Tyres

- Standard heel Solid resilient tyre rims/wheels are similar to that of pneumatic tyres. That is, it is possible to replace a specific pneumatic tyre size with a standard heel solid resilient tyre of the same rim size.
- Rims/wheels for standard heel solid resilient tyres are multi piece.
- LOC solid tyre cannot be fitted on a pneumatic tyre rim/wheel. It required specific rim/wheel.
- Solid tyres must be fitted on rims/wheels using fitment press only.Fitment using hammers can permanently damage rim/wheel profile.
- Rim/wheel size reading
EXAMPLE : 3.00 D – 83.00 — Rim/wheel width in inch. D — Rim/wheel profile. 8 — Nominal rim/wheel diameter in
inch. - Rim/wheel profile is as per ETRTO standard which is accepted globally.But hub dimension (number of fitment holes, dimension of holes, PCD (pithc circle diameter)of holes may vary based on OEM.
